It has been created to cover cultural and sporting projects, policies or programmes of all types and size. When more detailed analysis is required, as signposted throughout the guidance, reference should be made to the further advice at the end of each stage.

As the 5-Stage Process outlines, it ensures the financial sustainability of infrastructure development and ongoing maintenance. Revenue costs need to be considered from the earliest possible stage.

Update 23 January 2013

TCPA gave a briefing on the Growth and Infrastructure Bill which is at the Committee Stage in the House of Lords. The Chief Planner analysed the key planning changes resulting of this legisltation. Amendments to the Bill were proposed and discussed between the MPs, Lords and other present planning stakeholders. Consulsions raised the question of the ability of the Bill to address key delivery issues. The event took place at the House of Lords, London on Wednesday January 23rd 2013. Event 23 November 2012

TCPA hosted a meeting to take forward the initiative including developing cross-sector advice and information on planning for culture and sport. It took place on Thursday 22 November, 13:00-15:00 at TCPA, 17 Carlton House Terrace, London  SW1Y 5AS. It was chaired by TCPA Comms Manager, Fiona Mannion with an end-of-meeting planning update and policy reality-check by TCPA Chief Planner, Dr Hugh Ellis.
